Scottish Water Solutions is the major delivery partner for Scottish Water. It turned to The Orange Partnerships for assurance on the £200m/pa costs charged by its in-house suppliers.
We identified over £10m in overcharges and assisted with their subsequent recovery.

With budgets totally over £1bn/pa, BAA wanted confidence that the costs incurred under the Capital Projects Programme were appropriate.
As a result of working with The Orange Partnership, BAA has established an Internal Audit Function; improved the commercial management of individual projects benefitting both BAA and its contractors; identified £6m of overcharging.

BAA
Commercial Recovery Plan
The Orange Partnership was appointed by BAA to initiate a Commercial Recovery Plan, during the final year of construction of Terminal 5. As a result of our actions over £60m was returned back to the project.
BAA’s Terminal 5 Project has been one of the largest UK construction projects of modern times. The project was successfully delivered on time and on budget but, as with any major project, it was not without its cost pressures.

Southern Water
Contract Set Up and Mobilisation
Southern Water’s capital construction programme, known as AMP 4, ran between 2005 and 2010. Worth approximately £650m, it was awarded under a target cost contract arrangement to a newly formed joint venture 4Delivery (a joint venture between Costain, United Utilities, MWH).
The Orange Partnership was requested to review the contract and work with both Client and Contractor to drive understanding, transparency and definitions of contract cost during the initial mobilisation period.
Our actions assisted the smooth running of the partnership and avoidance of several millions of pounds of potential disputes.
